Welcome to Brahmaputra Car Rental. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website, as well as our self-drive car rental and tour booking services based in Guwahati, Assam.
Please read these Terms carefully before booking a vehicle or using our services. By accessing our website or completing a reservation, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to all the terms and conditions, please do not use our services.
Eligibility: To rent and drive a vehicle from us, you must hold a valid, original Driving License recognized in India, be of legal driving age (typically 18+ years, with a minimum of 1-2 years of driving experience preferred for safety in hilly terrain), and possess valid government-issued identification (Aadhaar, Passport, or Voter ID).
Confirmation: Reservations are confirmed upon the receipt of a mandatory booking advance. The remaining balance, along with a standard security deposit, must be cleared at or before the time of vehicle pickup.
Security Deposit: A fully refundable security deposit is required at the time of vehicle handover. This deposit will be returned after a standard post-trip vehicle inspection.
Permitted Use: Vehicles are provided strictly for self-drive tourism and personal travel. They may not be used for commercial transport, racing, rallying, off-roading in undesignated areas, or illegal activities.
Cross-Border Travel: If you plan to drive outside of Assam (e.g., Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh), you must notify us in advance so we can prepare the necessary interstate permits and documentation.
Strictly Prohibited: Over-speeding, reckless driving, driving under the influence of alcohol or substances, and carrying hazardous or flammable materials. Renters are fully liable for any traffic violations or penalties incurred during the rental period.
Fuel Policy: Our refueling policy is straightforward and transparent. You will receive the vehicle with a full tank and are required to return it at the same level. No refunds are provided for extra fuel left in the tank.
Tolls & Taxes: All toll taxes, parking fees, and interstate entry taxes incurred during your trip are the sole responsibility of the renter.
Breakdowns & Maintenance: Our fleet undergoes rigorous multi-point servicing and sanitization before every trip. In the rare event of a mechanical breakdown, contact our 24/7 support line immediately. Do not attempt unauthorized repairs.
Flexibility: We understand that travel plans can shift. We offer easy modification of booking dates and free cancellations, provided you notify us within our required notice window prior to your scheduled trip start date.
Refunds: Any eligible refunds resulting from a cancellation will be processed securely via your original payment method within a standard business timeframe.
Brahmaputra Car Rental, its founder Nirmal Das, and its team shall not be held liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with our services. Renters assume full personal and financial responsibility for personal injury, third-party property damage, or loss of personal items during the rental period.
